VTTI supports Port of Rotterdam offer to supply Europe with 4.6 megatonnes of hydrogen by 2030
Today, the Port of Rotterdam has offered European Commissioner Frans Timmermans the opportunity to kickstart the ambition of a hydrogen economy. Rotterdam can supply Europe with 4.6 megatonnes of hydrogen by 2030. The consumption of 4.6 million tonnes of hydrogen means 46 million tonnes of CO2 reduction and increases Europe’s energy independence.
VTTI endorses and fully supports this offer. Together with our partners, we are actively working on new projects to support the creation of the hydrogen economy and supplying renewable and low carbon hydrogen.
VTTI New Energies is currently developing multiple new energy opportunities in hydrogen & hydrogen carriers, renewable natural gas, waste to renewables and carbon capture. As part of this, we are open to engage in value chain partnerships to accelerate the energy transition and invite other to join our efforts .
