The Senior Project Manager (F/M/X) leads and directs the project organization and is responsible for the successful development and execution of a large-scale RNG project. The project scope includes feedstock reception, feed kitchen, digesters, biogas cleaning & upgrading, CO2 liquefaction, post treatment (Air treatment, Pelletizing …) with all associated utilities and infrastructure.

As such, the Senior Project Manager will be accountable for the safety, quality, cost and schedule performance of the RNG Project while preserving its business case and ensuring safe and reliable transition to operation of the facilities once commissioned.

The ideal candidate has an extensive project management experience in both the front end and the execution phases. He/she has a strong background in both technical and business aspects, with proven skills in stakeholder management.

The role would report directly into the General Project Manager, RNG.

Your responsibilities:

      • Responsible for the large scale RNG project, ensuring the safe execution, high quality work, on schedule completion and handover to Operations within the approved budget.
      • Manage safety in all aspects (process & people) throughout project life cycle and instill a safety culture in the project environment.
      • Closely coordinate with Business Development / Commercial and other representatives from Operations, and HSE departments to ensure alignment between business and project drivers, including permitting.
      • Establish, staff and maintain a right-sized Project Management Team (PMT) with quality resources to successfully deliver the project safely, efficiently and predictably.
      • Ensure adherence to corporate policy and compliance with the VTTI Project Management Framework driving rigorously the RNG project through stage gate process.
      • Ensure adequate governance is in place for the RNG project through In-vestment Committee Boards as well as individual projects SteerCos and Governance Boards as needed.
      • Drive project’s competitiveness by implementing Value Engineering practices as applicable, and minimize design changes that can generate delays and/or cost impacts
      • Provide assurance on RNG project performance approving project procedures and project execution plans including the scope of work, deliverables list, master schedule, budget, org charts, risk register.
      • Actively Manage RNG project risk register and convey project risks to stakeholders.
      • Monitor adherence to schedule, cost and quality and proactively intervene to avoid slippage by putting in pace recovery plans when/as needed.
      • Ensure Change Management process is strictly followed to identify and approve modifications to scope, cost, schedule and quality.
Qualifications: 

  • University degree (bachelors or masters) in Engineering or relevant discipline with combination of qualifications and experience.
  • Typically requires more than 15 years of broad and extensive experience, including but not limited to:
    • Minimum of 10 years of project management experience.
    • Minimum 5 years of similar Senior Project Manager experience in the relevant sector
  • A solid track record of project delivery performance in a highly agile environment.
  • Strong technical background with knowledge of engineering principles and contract management.
  • Deep understanding of project management stage gate processes and deliverable management.
  • Hands-on, inquisitive, resourceful.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Vast experience in stakeholder engagement, driving performance of a multi-disciplinary team, self-reflective and supportive.
