Category Procurement Manager F/M/X

Position at VTTI headquarters, Rotterdam

In this new role you will be part of the global transition to a new energy world where we strive to work as sustainable as possible. With room for a lot of personal input and growth. Reporting to the VP Procurement you will be setting up procurement strategies for several categories and collaborating with our regional managers for our worldwide terminals. Never a dull day.

What are your responsibilities?

  • Define and develop technical spend categories of Rotating equipment, mechanical, pumps, piping, valves and Engineering requirements for VTTI terminals.
  • Collaborate with the terminal’s procurement manager, technical and operations team to optimize spend at the terminals with a global and regional view of categories to drive cost optimization.
  • Drive long and short global and/or regional framework agreements including appropriate service level agreements with major suppliers to drive safe and cost effective spend.
  • Ensure execution of agreements is in line with VTTI growth and for betterment of existing infrastructure driving asset integrity.
  • Develop and lead negotiation strategies, conduct RFx, organize RFx results, and communicate complete strategy and results to senior management and key stakeholders at terminals and HQ in order to gain business alignment.

Key initial objectives:

  • Interact and understand business with main stakeholders together with spend footprint and scope
  • Familiarize with legal framework and review supplier vs. category as-is situation
  • Develop a plan of negotiable/ addressable spend together with the technical team to harness savings via spend consolidation and effective economies of scale

What we’re looking for

  • Experience in project procurement management
  • Technical education, engineering background or equivalent in Mechanical and or instrumentation & Process control, preferably with an MBA in supply chain
  • At least 5 years’ experience in technical procurement with exposure to EPC contracts, CAPEX & OPEX framework agreements on a global/regional level. Is a seasoned project manager and utilizes six sourcing steps for project execution
  • Collaborative and Responsive
  • Proven ability to plan and drive negotiations.
  • Able to pivot from details to strategy and vice versa.
  • Goal/target oriented, analytical, curious
  • Fluent in English, Dutch is a plus
